Making solar panels as sustainable as possible: Kameleon Solar leads the way

At Kameleon Solar, sustainability and quality are the cornerstones of our operations. Beyond producing clean energy, we’ve aimed to ensure our products themselves are as environmentally friendly as possible. CEO Kevin Verpaalen explains:

“As the grid gets cleaner, it becomes harder to offset the carbon footprint of solar panels. Additionally, the production process and end-of-life recyclability significantly affect the overall ecological impact.”

This inspired us to reassess our entire operation. In addition to adopting Maxeon solar cells—renowned for their durability and industry-low carbon footprint—we’ve refined our production processes. The outcome: recyclable, PFAS-free, and toxin-free panels crafted with as many locally sourced materials as possible.

Our production site in Roosendaal further reduces emissions by minimizing transportation. Kevin adds: “These improvements are reflected in the Life Cycle Analysis we’re conducting. It demonstrates that our panels have minimal environmental impact, from cradle to grave. They also contribute positively to a building’s MPG score, setting us apart in the market.”

This approach seamlessly blends sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality, empowering architects and building owners to achieve exceptional designs without compromising the environment.
