Circular multicolour façade PV: sustainable and visually innovative
A new standard in sustainable and aesthetic solar façades
Led by Kameleon Solar, a consortium of partners is developing a completely new production chain for circular, safe, and reliable multicolour façade PV modules. This innovation is part of the OPZuid program – a European-funded project developing a comprehensive, industry-wide approach for sustainable, safe, and multicolored solar panels in building façades – and represents a significant step forward in the transition to future-proof energy solutions.
At the heart of this innovation is the replacement of traditional plastic encapsulants with an advanced edge-sealing technology developed by Biosphere Solar. This results in up to 80% less energy consumption during production. Moreover, the panels can be fully disassembled and reused at the end of their lifespan. A Life Cycle Analysis reveals an impressive 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions, directly contributing to improved MPG scores for buildings.
But sustainability is only part of the story. These circular façade panels are modular in structure, available in vibrant colors and patterns, and fully customizable to match any design. Thanks to our advanced technology, energy output remains optimal – regardless of the visual appearance. The result is a scalable solution that enhances architecture without compromising on functionality.
